Stevan Swain , Duane Laughlin and David Pilkey founded personal Electric Transportation of Sarasota, Inc. ( PETS Inc. ) in 2007 to realize a vision of creating a practical, affordable and environmentally friendly way to travel. Their extensive research identified an underserved market for affordable and reliable forms of personal electric transportation, but it was pure good fortune that led to their partnership with GoPet , the manufacturer of our first PET.
PETS Inc. worked closely with GoPet for over a year and a half to design and develop a simple, clean electric vehicle that would travel at useful speeds and distances in an affordable, easy to ride and practical to own package. The initial results of those efforts is the GoPet , a state of the art personal mobility device that will take single riders 25 miles on a single charge at speeds of up to 16 m.p.h.
